What is the perimeter of a square

Perimeter of a square is equal to sum of all square sides.

Since all sides of a square are equal, its perimeter can be found by multiplying the side length by 4:

P = side + side + side + side = 4 * side

Perimeter of a Square Formula

  • If given Side of a square (a):

    {P = 4a}

  • If given Diagonal of a square (d):

    {P = \dfrac{4d}{\sqrt{2}}}

  • If given Area of a square (A):

    {P = 4 \sqrt{A}}
